Returning a supplication of forgiveness

‘Abdullaah Ibn Sarjis said: ‘I went to see the Prophet (S) and ate from his good and then said to him:
(i)
‘May Allaah forgive you, O Messenger of Allaah.’
…he (S) replied:
(ii)
‘and you.’
